Amazon and Linnworks integration
Selling on Amazon alongside your own store means holding two stocks, unless both read the same source. Linnworks is where the stock lives; an integration keeps listings, orders and despatches moving through it without anyone opening Seller Central.
Why companies connect Amazon to Linnworks
The marketplace sets the terms: its own listing structure, mandatory barcodes, contractual despatch windows and metrics that fall when they are missed. Running that from Seller Central while the store carries on guarantees two things - stock that drifts and cancellations for items that were not there - and a cancellation feeds straight into the account health that decides whether the offers are seen at all.
How we do it
Linnworks stays the source. Listings are built from its catalogue with the barcode, the channel price and the available stock, pushed through the Selling Partner API and refreshed on every movement. Amazon orders come back into Linnworks with their channel marked, and acceptance, despatch and tracking go up as the order is worked, inside the window the contract sets.
What you get
One stock pool behind the store and the marketplace, updated on every sale from either side
A channel price separate from the store price, calculated from the category's referral fee
Orders picked and packed in the same place as everything else, on the same pick lists
Despatch and tracking uploaded inside the window, which is what protects account health
Listings built from the catalogue with barcode and attributes, rather than through the Seller Central form
Use cases
A Linnworks seller opening Amazon who refuses to double the back-office team
A catalogue of 2,000 lines where only part is profitable once marketplace fees are counted
A seller penalised for late despatch caused by tracking uploaded by hand
A seasonal line that has to come off the marketplace before it runs short in the store
Frequently asked questions
Can we list only part of the catalogue?
Yes, and it is the right call. The selection runs on a rule - category, margin, minimum stock - rather than a hand-kept list, so a new product joins or leaves on its own.
How is the channel price worked out?
By a rule applied to the store price: category referral fee, shipping carried, floor margin. You set the rule, the connector applies it, and it never goes under the floor - promotion or not.
What about eBay and the other channels?
The same architecture takes them: Linnworks stays the source and each channel gets its adapter. The first channel carries the cost of the architecture - the ones after it cost an adapter.
